Medias, Transylvania
Medias is a veritable outdoor museum. The historical monuments and those of medieval art can be found between the walls, and behind this architectural balance is the story of a great community, a set of elements that makes Medias a city worth living in.
The historic city center of Medias looks like an outdoor museum. The monuments from the medieval castle square are unique in Transylvania. The city is more than seven centuries old, being first mentioned in a historical document in 1267, making it one of the oldest cities in Romania. Among the touristic sights, we can mention the Tailor’s Tower, Trumpet’s Tower, Bells Tower, Schuller House (1588), Forkesch Tower, Stonecutter’s Tower, Blacksmith’s Tower. The franciscan architectural complex includes the Church and the Franciscan Monastery, which, around 1444, were built by the Franciscan order.
